Location and description

Hülserhof is located south of the center of Leichlingen, somewhat remote from neighboring settlements on the Gruiten – Cologne-Deutz railway line north of the Wupper near the city limits of Leverkusen . The Hülserbruch nature reserve begins south of the village and has wetlands worth protecting. The Leverkusen town of Posberg is also one of the neighboring towns.

history

The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows the farm under the name Hülserhof , but incorrectly south of the Wupper. In the 18th century, the place belonged to the parish of Leichlingen in the Bergisches Amt Miselohe . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and the Prussian first survey from 1844 record the farm as a Hülsenhof . On Ordnance Survey of official Topographic Map 1.25.000 is the place in the first half of the 20th century as sleeves labeled, in the second half again as Hülserhof . In 1867 the Gruiten – Cologne – Deutz railway line was opened, which runs directly past the village.

In 1815/16 ten people lived in the village. In 1832 Hülserhof belonged to the mayor's office of Leichlingen under the name Hülsen . The place, which was categorized as arable property according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had a residential house and two agricultural buildings at the time. At that time there were 12 people living in the village, all of whom were Catholic.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885 a house with seven inhabitants is given. In 1895 the place had a house with eight residents, in 1905 one house and five residents.
