Stöcken is a village that emerged from a court in the city of Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

Location and description

Stöcken is located east of the center of Leichlingen on a ridge between the Murbach and the Weltersbach on Landesstrasse 294 near the city limits of Leverkusen . To the north, the place borders on the Weltersbachtal nature reserve .

The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the farm under the name Stöcken . In the 18th century, the place belonged to the parish of Leichlingen in the Bergisches Amt Miselohe . The Topographic the Rhineland in 1824 and the Prussian Uraufnahme of 1844 recorded the place as Stoecke or sticks .

In 1815/16 56 people lived in the village. In 1832, Stöcken belonged to the mayor's office in Leichlingen . The place, which was categorized as a court town according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had ten residential buildings and 14 agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 70 people lived in the place, two of them Catholic and 68 Protestant.
