Wersbach is a village in Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisch district that emerged from a court .

Location and description

The place is south of Witzhelden on the state road 359 above the Wersbach valley near the city limits of Burscheid . Neighboring villages are next to the Höhendorf Witzhelden Dorffeld , Nüsenhöfen , Bern , Neuenhof , Meie , Feld , Höhscheid , Windfoche , Tyrol and Wersbacher Mühle on Leichlinger and Berringhausen , Paffenlöh and Oberwietsche on Burscheider urban area.

history

The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows a farm under the name Wertsbach . In the 18th century, the place belonged to the parish Witzhelden in the Bergisches Amt Miselohe . The topographical record of the Rhineland from 1824 and the Prussian first record from 1844 record the place as Weiersbach and Wersbach, respectively .

In 1815/16 51 people lived in the village. In 1832 Wersbach belonged to the parish Witzhelden of the Burscheid mayor . The place, categorized as a village according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had eleven residential buildings and 20 agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 60 people lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

Due to the municipal code for the Rhine province, the parish of Witzhelden received the status of a municipality in 1845, left the Burscheid mayor and formed its own mayor's office from 1850 onwards . In 1885, the municipality encyclopedia for the Rhineland province lists eleven houses with 46 inhabitants. In 1895 the place had eleven houses with 55 inhabitants, in 1905 eleven houses and 55 inhabitants.

On January 1, 1975, the Witzhelden community was incorporated with Wersbach in Leichlingen.
