history

The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and the Prussian first survey from 1844 record the place as Kullen and Kuhle .

In 1832 Kuhle belonged to the parish Witzhelden of the Burscheid mayor . The place, which was categorized as a court town according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had three residential buildings and two agricultural buildings at the time. At that time 19 residents lived in the place, all of them Protestant faith.

Due to the municipal code for the Rhine province, the parish of Witzhelden received the status of a municipality in 1845, left the Burscheid mayor and formed its own mayor's office from 1850 onwards . In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland in 1885 eight houses with 40 inhabitants are given. In 1895 the place had nine houses with 42 inhabitants, in 1905 ten houses and 32 inhabitants.

On January 1, 1975, the community of Witzhelden with Kuhle was incorporated into Leichlingen.
