Location of Hüttchen in Leichlingen (Rhineland)

Hüttchen is a location in the town of Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis that emerged from a residential area .

Location and description

Hüttchen is located east of the L288 state road in the immediate vicinity of the Stockberg , Am Adler , Merlenforst and Windgesheide residential areas , all of which are within 200 meters. The original settlement core of the village, which was still independent in the first half of the 20th century, lies north of the street Am Hüttchen, which is named after him . The entire area, which is now closed, is now named after the neighboring Windgesheide residential area.

To the west of Hüttchen, in the urban area of Langenfeld, were the Leichlinger Sandberge , which were largely removed for sand extraction. Other neighboring places, mostly those in the western suburbs of Leichlingen, are Kellerhansberg , Unterschmitte , Roßlenbruch , Bockstiege and Bahnhof . Ziegwebersberg and Staderhof have retained their independent location.

history

The place was only created at the beginning of the 19th century. Hüttchen was next to Sandstrasse , an old road from Aufderhöhe to Opladen and today's state road L288. The Prussian first photo from 1844 shows the place unlabeled, as does the Leichlinger municipality map from 1830.

In 1832 Hüttchen belonged to the mayor's office of Leichlingen under the name of Hüthchen . The place, which was categorized as a day laborer's apartment according to the statistics and topography of the administrative district of Düsseldorf , had three residential buildings and two agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 14 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant. In 1867 the Gruiten – Cologne – Mülheim railway line was opened east of Hüttchen .

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885, six houses with 18 inhabitants are given. In 1895 the place had five houses with 27 inhabitants, in 1905 five houses and 25 inhabitants.

From the middle of the 20th century, the gaps in the residential and commercial development with the neighboring residential areas were closed and Hüttchen became part of the western suburb of Leichlingen. In March 2015, the construction of a new bridge over the railway began. The costs are expected to be 600,000 euros.
