Sonne is a residential area in the town of Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .
Location and description
Sonne is located south of the center of Leichlingen on a low ridge between the Weltersbach and the Murbach , which also forms the border with Leverkusen , and is divided into two neighboring settlement areas. The state road 294 runs past the place, which led through the place until it was re-routed in the 1960s. Neighboring places are Wietsche , Wietschermühle , Balken , Zeit , Junkersholz , Hasensprung , Büschershöfe and Steegershäuschen on Leichlinger and Neuenkamp on Leverkusen's urban area.

In the 18th century, the place belonged to the parish of Leichlingen in the Bergisches Amt Miselohe . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 shows the courtyard as a sun , the Prussian first photo from 1844 does not show the location.
In 1832, Sonne belonged to the mayor's office in Leichlingen . The place, categorized as an inn according to the statistics and topography of the administrative district of Düsseldorf , had a residential house and an agricultural building at the time. At that time, eight people lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.
In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885, three houses with 21 inhabitants are given. In 1895 the place had three houses with 13 inhabitants, in 1905 three houses and 19 inhabitants.
