Unterberg is a village in the town of Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisch district that emerged from a court .

Location and description

Unterberg is located in the valley of the Wupper north of the center of Leichlingen at the confluence of the district road K 10 with the district road 1 in the natural spatial unit of Unteres Wuppertal .

Neighboring towns are Hülstrung , Kradenpuhl , Scheidt , Bertenrath , Bennert , Kuhle , Eicherhof , Am Hammer , Bechlenberg and Bergerhof on this side of the Wupper and Müllerhof , Bungenstraße , Ziegwebersberg , Staderhof and Merlenforst on the other side of the Wupperside. Wüst has fallen Büchel house .

history

The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows four farms under the name Unterberg . In the 18th century, the place belonged to the parish of Leichlingen in the Bergisches Amt Miselohe . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and the Prussian first survey from 1844 both record the place as Unterberg .

In 1815/16 there were 78 people living in the village. In 1832 Unterberg belonged to the mayor's office in Leichlingen . The place, categorized as a village according to the statistics and topography of the administrative district of Düsseldorf , had 20 houses and 13 agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 107 people lived in the place, six of them Catholic and 101 Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885 21 houses with 146 inhabitants are given. In 1895 the place had 22 houses with 122 inhabitants, in 1905 24 houses and 131 inhabitants.
