Oberbüscherhof is the name of a village in Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis.

Location and description

The place is northwest of Witzhelden on the edge of the plateau, which drops to the north in the nature reserve Wupper slopes with side depths and the Wupper north of Witzhelden and Leichlingen steeply to the Lower Wuppertal . The foothills of the plateau towards the valley area are called Wupperberge . The place has grown together with its northeastern neighbor Claasholz to form a settlement area. Other neighboring towns are Unterbüchscherhof , Orth , Wolfsstall , Herscheid , Sieferhof , Krähwinkel , Holzerhof , Bechhausen and Schüddig .

Oberbüscherhof is regionally known for the “ Haus Klippenberg ” excursion restaurant on the outskirts, which has been known for over 100 years .

The Topographia Ducatus Montani map from 1715 shows the farm under the name of Ober Buscherhof . In the 18th century, the place belonged to the parish of Leichlingen in the Bergisches Amt Miselohe . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and the Prussian first survey from 1844 recorded the farm as Ob.Buscherhof and Ob.Büscherhof .

In 1815/16 83 people lived in the village. In 1832, Oberbüscherhof belonged as a border town to the mayor's office of Leichlingen , while the neighboring town of Classholz belonged to the mayor's office of Burscheid . The place, which was categorized as a village according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had 17 residential houses and 18 agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 79 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

In 1885, the municipality encyclopedia for the Rhineland province lists 24 houses with 108 inhabitants. In 1895 the place had 20 houses with 99 inhabitants, in 1905 21 houses and 94 inhabitants.
