Location and description

Dorffeld is located south of Witzhelden on state road 359 above the Wersbach valley near the city limits of Burscheid . In addition to the Höhendorf Witzhelden, neighboring towns are nearby Wersbach , Nüsenhöfen , Bern , Neuenhof , Meie , Feld , Höhscheid , Windfoche , Tyrol and Wersbacher Mühle in Leichlinger and Berringhausen , Paffenlöh and Oberwietsche in the Burscheider urban area.

history

The place is unlabeled on the Prussian first recording from 1844, earlier maps show the place uninhabited. The village center of Dorffeld lies east of today's state road, in the first quarter of the 20th century further residential buildings were added west of the road. In the 19th century, Dorffeld belonged to the Witzhelden parish of the Burscheid mayor . Due to the municipal code for the Rhine province, the parish of Witzhelden received the status of a municipality in 1845, left the Burscheid mayor and formed its own mayor's office from 1850 onwards . On January 1, 1975, the Witzhelden community was incorporated with Wersbach in Leichlingen.
