Scheeresberg is a locality in the town of Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . Today, the location is no longer perceptible as an independent living space, but part of the suburb of Leichlingen.

Location and description

Scheeresberg is located west of Leichlingen city center in the area of Gertraud-Theis-Straße . The settlement core of the residential area has merged into the closed residential and commercial development, the entire local area is now part of the Leichlingen core town. The Gruiten – Cologne – Mülheim railway runs west of the town .

Neighboring places, mostly those in the southwest and southern suburbs of Leichlingen, are, in addition to the city center with Breuhaus and Am Hammer , Kaltenberg , Windgesheide , Brücke , Brückerfeld , Staderhof , Bockstiege , Windfahne , Untermitte , Pastorat , Hüttchen , Merlenforst and Bahnhof .

The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 shows the place as Schreerberg , but in the wrong place. From the Prussian new admission in 1892, the place was regularly recorded as Scheeresberg on measuring table sheets until the middle of the 20th century .

1832, the village belonged under the name Scherer mountain of mayoralty Leichlingen on. The place, which was categorized as arable land according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had a house and an agricultural building at the time. At that time, nine people lived in the village, all of whom were evangelicals. In 1867 the Gruiten – Cologne – Mülheim railway line was opened on site.

The municipal and Gutbezirksstatistik the Rhine Province leads Scherresberg 1871 with four houses and 26 residents. In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885, four houses with 33 inhabitants are given.
