history

Windfoche initially belonged to the places of the parish Witzhelden in the mayor's office of Burscheid . Due to the municipal code for the Rhine Province, the parish of Witzhelden received the status of a municipality in 1845, left the Burscheid mayor and formed its own municipality and mayor's office from 1850 .

A water tower stood at Richtershof from the first third of the 20th century until the 1970s . On January 1, 1975, the community of Witzhelden was incorporated with Richtershof in Leichlingen.
