Junkersholz is a village that emerged from a knight 's seat in the city of Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

Location and description

Junkersholz is located east of the center of Leichlingen on a ridge between the Murbach and the Weltersbach north of the state road 294 near the city limits of Leverkusen . To the north, the place borders on the Weltersbachtal nature reserve .

Neighboring locations are Roderbirken , Stöcken , Zeit , Wietschermühle , Rosenthal , Stöcken , Haswinkel , Auf dem Katzensterz and Balkerberg on Leichlinger and Pattscheid in the Leverkusen city area.

history

Hof Zum Holz , later called Junkersholz, was a large manor in the early modern period. In the 17th century Junkersholz was expressly mentioned as a knight's seat. The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the farm under the name Junckersholt . In the 18th century, the place belonged to the parish of Leichlingen in the Bergisches Amt Miselohe . The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and the Prussian first survey from 1844 both record the place as Junkersholz .

In 1815/16 there were 80 people living in the village. In 1832 Junkersholz belonged to the mayor's office in Leichlingen . The place, which was categorized as a village according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had 17 residential houses and 17 agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 90 residents lived in the village, eleven of them Catholic and 79 Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland in 1885 16 houses with 100 inhabitants are given. In 1895 the place had 17 houses with 93 inhabitants, in 1905 17 houses and 79 inhabitants.
