The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and the Prussian first survey from 1844 both record the place as Altenhof .

In 1815/16 seven people lived in the village. In 1832 Altenhof belonged to the mayor's office in Leichlingen . The place, categorized as a village according to the statistics and topography of the administrative district of Düsseldorf , had a residential house and three agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, five people lived in the village, one of them Catholic and four Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885 a house with seven inhabitants is given. In 1895 the place had two houses with nine inhabitants, in 1905 one house and six inhabitants.
