Ellenbogen is a residential area in the town of Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

Location and description

Ellenbogen is located northeast of the center of Leichlingen on the Leichlinger plateau on the K10 district road. Today the place forms a closed settlement area with the neighboring Bennert and Oberschmitte as well as Diepenbroich .

Other neighboring towns are Altenhof , Scheidt , Hohlenweg , Dierath , Hülstrung , Kuhle , Buntenbach , Weide , Waltenrath , Bergerhof , Schmerbach , Wachholder , Roderhof , Neuland and Bertenrath . Wüst has fallen Büchel house .

history

The place appears as a single house on the municipality map of Leichlingen from 1830. The Prussian first recording from 1844 shows the place as an elbow .

In the 20th century, Ellenbogen was at the confluence of Kreisstraße 10 with Landesstraße 359. Due to the construction of the Oberschmitten bypass, the route of the Landesstraße now runs south of the village and the former Landesstraße at the residential area has been stepped down to the local road.
