Federal and rail accident insurance
The Federal and Railway Accident Insurance ( UVB for short ) is a corporation under public law and provides accident insurance for employees at federal authorities and Deutsche Bahn and its offshoots. It was created on January 1, 2015 through the merger of the Federal Accident Fund and the Railway Accident Fund . The new carrier has its main locations in Wilhelmshaven and Frankfurt am Main, as well as nine other locations.
The aim is to support member companies in preventing accidents at work, occupational diseases and work-related health hazards. The UVB ensures effective first aid , monitors accident prevention and advises its members and their employees on issues relating to occupational health and safety. After the occurrence of an insured event, the costs for treatment and rehabilitation are covered.

- Employees and volunteers at
- Blood donor at the German Red Cross
- Unemployed and rehabilitants
- the German Bahn AG and the resulting spin-offs
- the federal railway assets (BEV)
- the railway company health insurance fund (Bahn-BKK)
- the company social institutions of Deutsche Bahn AG , the federal railway assets and the railway health insurance fund
