Federal Accident Fund
The accident insurance fund of the Federal (UK-Bund, former .: Federal execution authority for accident insurance , BAfU) was until the end of 2014 the competent accident insurance fund for employees of the federal administration , the employment offices , the foreign forces in Germany and particularly companies such institutions and foundations . In addition, the federal government assumed social responsibility for special persons who are not directly employed by the federal administration (e.g. employees and volunteers of the DRK ) and insured them against accidents with the federal accident insurance. The UK-Bund looked after more than six million insured persons - in Germany and abroad. The head office was in Wilhelmshaven , there was another administrative office in Münster. Branch offices for prevention were in Berlin and Mainz.
The Federal Accident Insurance and the Eisenbahn-Unfallkasse merged on January 1, 2015 to form the new Federal and Railway Accident Insurance (UVB). The new agency has its headquarters in Wilhelmshaven and Frankfurt as well as nine other locations.
Insured
The UK-Bund insured u. a.
- Approx. 270,000 employees of the federal administration, the Federal Employment Agency, foreign armed forces and acquired institutions (institutions, foundations, etc.).
- approx. 350,000 full-time and voluntary employees of the Federal Agency for Technical Relief and the German Red Cross (DRK)
- more than 1.8 million blood donors from the German Red Cross
- over 4.2 million unemployed if, on the order of the employment office, z. B. went to an interview.
- Foreign teachers (seconded to German schools abroad by the Central Office for Schools Abroad)
- Local staff at federal representations abroad: z. B. Embassies, Consulates General, Federal Armed Forces in the USA or in the former Yugoslavia and the Goethe Institutes
- Development workers (from: German Development Service , Working Group for Development Aid , Evangelical Development Service , World Peace Service , Eirene , Christian Specialists International )
In 2002 almost 38,000 accidents and illnesses were reported. A good 33,000 pensions were paid to injured and surviving dependents. In 2002 around 200 million euros were spent, 146 million euros alone for pension payments.
The artists' social insurance fund is integrated as a special department of the federal accident insurance fund. It is also based in Wilhelmshaven.
Supervisory authority
For federal authorities, the Federal Accident Fund is the supervisory authority for occupational safety on behalf of the Central Office for Occupational Safety and Health at the Federal Ministry of the Interior in accordance with ArbSchG § 21.Employees may contact the company if they have legitimate doubts about occupational safety or occupational safety after they have demonstrably exhausted all internal options Contact the supervisory authority without having to fear disadvantages.
