Evangelical Development Service

The Evangelical Development Service eV (EED) was a development organization of the Protestant regional and free churches in Germany, which annually supported over 1,500 projects of church and civil society partner organizations financially or through the placement of development specialists and awarded scholarships to young professionals from developing countries. In 2012 it merged with the Diakonisches Werk der EKD .

The association was created in 1999 from the merger of the church aid organizations

EED and Diakonisches Werk der EKD merged in 2012 to form the Evangelical Work for Diakonia and Development . In it, EED and Bread for the World form a development agency under the name “Bread for the World - Evangelical Development Service”. The representations in Bonn, Stuttgart and Berlin-Dahlem were dissolved and the administration relocated to a new building in Berlin . The new form of organization has been working since October 2012.
