Hematoma (dt. Bruise ) is a German Metal - Volume of storage village in Upper Franconia , which has been founded in 2004. The band stands out due to the elaborate masking of its members and at the beginning of their career played children's songs in the style of the New German Hardship .

history

Hämatom was created as an overall concept of music and visualization when it was founded in Speicherersdorf in 2004. The members gave themselves the names of the four cardinal points as pseudonyms: Torsten "Nord" Scharf is the singer of the band, Jacek "Ost" Zyla plays guitar, Peter "West" Haag bass and Frank "Süd" Jooss drums

After it was founded in 2004, Hämatom played its first concerts in their Franconian home area. In April 2005 the band went on tour with JBO . Here they sold their first self-produced single Butzemann . The next single Bunny was a foretaste of the EP No . This was published in September 2005 and contained 9 tracks, some of which were influenced by fairy tales and children's songs. In the same year the band played as the opening act for Knorkator in Nuremberg and also appeared at the Earthshaker Festival with bands such as Nightwish and Manowar and the Burning Fall Festival with Six Feet Under, among others .

In February 2006, the band's first headlining tour took them through ten German cities. On this tour, the band sold a special tour single with the songs Leck mich , merz and Mit dem Kopf durch die Wand , which also appeared on the upcoming album Wut . In the autumn of that year, the band toured 14 German cities as a support act for the Apokalyptischen Reiter .

The year 2007 began with JBO's rock music tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland, which accompanied Hämatom and in this context also played abroad for the first time. In April the band on the label Megapress signed to the album anger over soul food to distribute. The publication finally followed on January 25, 2008.

In January 2010, Hematom released their second album, entitled Stay Kränk . In 2011 they played at the Wacken Open Air and at the Walpurgis Battle at the Hexentanz Festival .

In September 2011 the third album when you speak of the devil was released, and Hämatom appeared on on3-südwild . The album debuted at number 60 in the German charts . A music video was published on YouTube four days beforehand for the song Totgesagt but Neugeboren - Part 2 , in which Pat Prziwara from Fiddler's Green and Philipp Burger from Frei.Wild appear as guest singers.

The band's 200th show in March 2012 was immortalized for a live DVD and CD, which was released in September with the title Schutt und Asche - and climbed straight to number eight in the German album charts. This was followed by the support of the NDH band Eisbrecher on their Hell Tour II. In July 2013, the band accepted an invitation to the Sofia Rocks Festival in Bulgaria to play as support for Rammstein .

The fourth album Keinzeitmensch was released in September 2013 . The single Alte Liebe rostet nicht was released in advance. From October the band went on tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland again.

In July 2014 began in collaboration with producer Kristian Kohlmannslehner work on the follow-up album, whose Kohlekeller Studios X . This was released in October 2014 for the 10th anniversary of the band and entered the German album charts at number 16. The double album also contained cover versions of u. a. Marteria , Deichkind , Jan Delay , as well as two new previously unreleased songs and eight newly recorded older pieces by the band.

The extended festival season in 2015 took the band to the Summer Breeze Open Air for the first time , followed by the Heidenfest tour with the Apokalyptischen Reiter, Finntroll and Korpiklaani through the Federal Republic, Austria and Switzerland.

In January 2016, Hämatom released the single Fick das System! . The sixth studio album Wir sind Gott was released on March 25, 2016. It entered the German album charts at number five and stayed in the top 100 for four weeks. We are God also hit the charts in Austria (24th place) and Switzerland (69th place) .

In January 2018, the band's seventh studio album, Bestie der Freiheit, was released. Hämatom thus made it into the chart lists of all DA-CH countries again. In Germany, the album was in second position and thus only just missed the top of the chart. The band just had to admit defeat to Tocotronics Die Infendlichkeit .

style

The band's first texts refer to European fairy tales such as Bi-ba-butzemann , Hansel & Gretel and Heissa Kathreinerle . The texts are all in German. Later texts only occasionally have a direct reference to fairy tales. The song Eve is based on the biblical template and takes up the motif of the fall of man in a humorous way ("I've always been a fan of you | In the Garden of Eden sinful life"). Apocalypse and soul pirates also have a clear religious reference. The song titles It is not all gold that glitters and Alte Liebe rostet do not exist in German as widespread idioms. The song Bester Freund, Bester Feind consists mostly of quotations from Goethe's The Sorcerer's Apprentice .

On the newer albums more and more socially and socially critical songs are published. For example, Ahoi is about the crossing of refugees to the supposedly promised land which ends in a shipping disaster. The pillars of madness describe the increasing social imbalance ("The rich play Monopoly | The poor Schwarzer Peter | Chaos days on the one hand | Thanksgiving on the other | Caviar on the table | Or Molotovs in the closet"). The fourth power takes a critical look at the media landscape ("What you see, what hear, what you read | Comes from the pen of my imagination"). Who is Afraid addresses the cases of child abuse of the Catholic Church from the perpetrator's point of view. With the title Fremd the band takes a stand against xenophobia and with the title I have a dream unmistakably against every form of National Socialism .

Festivals

Demon dance

The anniversary concert for the 10th anniversary of the band took place on December 26, 2014 in the music center in Trockau. In addition to Hämatom, Knorkator and Stepfather Fred played at the quickly sold out event . Johanna von der Vögelweide from the band Feuerschwanz had a guest appearance with her violin at Hematoma. This winter festival, called “Demon Dance”, has since been an integral part of the calendar at the end of the year.

The loud supper

The sold-out Wir-sind-Gott release show in the Aladin in Bremen on Good Friday was repeated in 2017 and established as the annual loud supper with befriended bands and fans on Good Friday . For the Loud Last Supper 2019, the Aladin and the Tivoli next to it were booked and the two stages alternately played.
