Kristian Kohlmannslehner

Kristian Kohlmannslehner (born February 16, 1978 in Darmstadt , actually Christian Kohlmannslehner , pseudonym "coal", real name Kristian Bonifer née Kohlmannslehner) is a German-Swedish musician, composer and music producer.

Life

Since 1999 he has been producing mostly metal , hardcore punk and rock productions in his coal cellar studio . As a music producer and sound engineer, Kohlmannslehner has various German and European chart placements with bands such as Lacrimas Profundere , Sieges Even , Hämatom , Crematory , Powerwolf , Eskimo Callboy , Subsignal and Aborted (e.g. Crematory: 2006 with Klagebilder on position 66, 2008 with Pray on 64th place, 2004 with Revolution in 47th place, Powerwolf: 2011 with Blood of the Saints in 23rd place, Eskimo Callboy: 2014 with We Are The Mess in 8th place).

His greatest success in 2013 was the placement of the Powerwolf album Preachers of the Night at number 1 on the German album charts. The album also reached chart positions in Switzerland, Austria, Sweden and Finland. Also the album Revolter by the band Dymytry , which reached platinum status in the Czech Republic.

As a musician, Kohlmannslehner founded his solo project Another Perfect Day in 2009, in which he played all the instruments himself except for the drums. The debut The Gothenburg Post Scriptum (2010) and the subsequent EP Four Songs for the Left Behind (2012) were released by Supreme Chaos Records . Another Perfect Day's music is complex , progressive metal .

In January 2019, Kohlmannslehner was the first German music producer to be invited to Nail the Mix as part of his production of Aborteds Terrorvision , the largest American online audio school around the URM Academy, which was founded by music producer Joey Sturgis .

The American software company Drumforge released its first collection of drum samples with Drumshotz coal in summer 2019 .

In cooperation with the guitar pedal manufacturer Klirrton, he released a distortion pedal called Grindstein in 2019 , which recreates the sound of 90s death metal in a modern form.

Kohlmannslehner also acts as a supporting composer for some of the performers. This is what happened in collaboration with Hämatom , GWLT , Gloomball , Lacrimas Profundere and 8Kids .
