Heljareyga is a solo project by the guitarist and singer Heri Joensen , member of the Faroese folk metal band Týr .

On February 12, 2010 the debut album Heljareyga was produced in the German coal cellar studio by Kristian Kohlmannslehner and released on the Faroese label Tutl . It is legally available for download on the Internet. The album has also been available on CD since October 29, 2010. It is distributed by EMP and Amazon , among others . The label Black Bards Entertainment , to which Ingrimm is also under contract, distributes the album throughout Europe . In April 2011 Gernotshagen , Kromlek , Skyforger , Northland and Nothgard will be accompanied on the Black Trolls Over Europe Tour .

Surname

The name Heljareyga comes from Old Norse and roughly means "Hell's Eye". A natural phenomenon in the Faroe Islands is known under the same name, which has been reported to be the Nordic god of death who looks up to the sky.
