Under Siege was a German metalcore band from Hanover that existed from 2003 to 2008 .
history
In the fall of 1999 Henning Lührig, Sebastian Eggers and Christian Dormeier - all of them with Hold Regained up to now - founded the hardcore punk band Max Rebo Kids together with Christopher Petersen and Stephan Möller from Raksasas . After several contributions to the sampler and a single , the debut album Ciphers was released in 2001 via Let It Burn Records . As a promotion, the band toured with Born from Pain , Caliban , Maroon , Deadlock and The Missing 23rd.
In 2002, during the recording of the next album, the band's sound shifted more and more into metalcore , which is why the band, to mark a new step in the band's history, renamed itself Under Siege . The album After the Flood was recorded together with Kristian "Charcoal" Kohlmannslehner (including Crematory , Agathodaimon ) . Crematory's guitarist Matthias Hechler then played a solo on Twisting the Knife . The album was released in November 2003 and in November Under Siege toured with Comeback Kid .
After appearances or tours with Fear My Thoughts , Champion, The Promise, Caliban , Zero Mentality , Terror , Throwdown , Eighteen Visions , Heaven Shall Burn , The Black Dahlia Murder and Himsa , five new tracks were recorded, which were recorded together with the band in October 2004 A Traitor Like Judas were released on the split CD Ten Angry Men . In a review of the split CD, the two bands were described as " definitely belonging to the national hardcore / metalcore spearhead ".
After a few more appearances, Christopher Petersen and Stephan Möller left the band, but they quickly found a replacement in Jörg Wöckener and Matthias Bormann. In 2006 the album Days of Dying Monuments was released , on which the five songs of the now out of print split CD are together with seven new recordings. Concerts followed, this time with bands like Parkway Drive , Death by Stereo and Walls of Jericho .
In autumn 2008 Jörg Wöckener and Henning Lührig left the band, whereupon Under Siege announced their breakup.
