Fear My Thoughts was a German metal band with melodic death metal and metalcore influences that was founded in 1998 in Rheinfelden (Baden) .

history

Fear My Thoughts at RockTheLake 2007

Her first mini-CD, Sapere Aude, was relatively experimental, but it could still be described as old-school hardcore. Which musical path the band would take could be seen from the first album 23 , which was released in 2001 on Let It Burn Records and already showed the first signs of metalcore . This was followed in 2002 by the album Vitriol , which, like the two previous albums , was influenced by bands like Converge or Cave In .

The Great Collapse , released in 2004 by Lifeforce Records ( CD ) and Per Koro Records ( LP ), differs in sound from its predecessors. It combines Hardcore with Death Metal , with influences from completely different directions (as FMT emphasizes again and again: Iron Maiden and Radiohead ). With the 2005 release Hell Sweet Hell , Fear My Thoughts moved away from hardcore and increasingly turned to melodic death metal, reminiscent of bands like Soilwork , At the Gates or Arch Enemy .

From 2006 the band is under contract with Century Media . In January 2007 the new album was released with the name Vulcanus . Fear My Thoughts have already played over 150 concerts across Europe with bands like Caliban , Exodus , Hypocrisy , The Haunted and at the X-Mass Metal festivals with Wintersun , Hypocrisy, Exodus, Liar and Naglfar . On July 18, 2008, the band released the album Isolation . The album is characterized by progressive riffs and the variable vocals of the new singer Martin Fischer .

On November 25, 2009, Fear My Thoughts announced their breakup for 2010 on the band's homepage. They played their farewell concert on February 19, 2010 in Loerrach. Martin Fischer joined the band Long Distance Calling in October 2012 , Norman Lonhard joined Triptykon .
