Aborted is an internationally successful death metal - / grindcore - band from Belgium .

Band history

Aborted was founded in Beveren-Leie , Belgium in 1995 as a Goregrind band by singer Sven de Caluwé. In 1997 Sven looked for the other members, and together they signed their first record deal with UXICON Records.

The central theme in their texts are mass murderers . They are currently under contract with the Dortmund record label Century Media and toured with bands such as Cryptopsy and Morbid Angel . In 2006 bassist "Olivia Scemama" (replaced by Peter Goemaere) and drummer "Gilles Delecroix" (replaced by Dan Wilding) separated from the band.

With the album "Goremageddon: The Saw And The Carnage Done", according to vocalist Sven de Caluwé, Aborted have embarked on a very independent musical genre.

On January 14, 2010 the EP Coronary Reconstruction , recorded in 2009 with a new line-up (except for the singer, all band members were replaced by new ones) was released.

Aborted made it into the charts for the first time in 2014 with the album The Necrotic Manifesto , and they were particularly successful in neighboring countries. With the album RetroGore produced by Kristian Kohlmannslehner in the German Kohlenkeller Studios, they surpassed this success again in 2016. With the album Terrorvision , released in 2018, the band expanded their style with dark Black Metal-inspired influences and atmospheric elements. The album, which was again produced under the direction of Kristian Kohlmannslehner, reached the highest chart positions to date and was toured in Europe, Australia and America.
