Belmez was the solo project of ex- eminence member Karsten "Zwerg" Breiten. This project, which existed from 1993 to 2001, said it played dark metal with German lyrics.

Band history

After leaving Eminence, Karsten Bendung founded the Belmez project, named after the village of Bélmez de la Moraleda . Alleged spooky phenomena were found there, which manifested themselves in the form of human faces on a concrete wall. Breit wrote only German texts that were influenced by German Romanticism , Edgar Allan Poe and HP Lovecraft and were intended to be reminiscent of haunted stories. B Spread himself played vocals and guitar, dispensed with a bass and had a drum computer programmed by various session members.

After the two demos In Memory (1993) and Gore (1994), he received a recording contract with Napalm Records . In 1995 the first album "Berserker" was released and received the ridicule of the established metal press. The album was rated as an "ass bomb" in Rock Hard with an ironic "10". In particular, the song Meine Kraft , dedicated to his partner Jana Kluge, caused all sorts of mockery due to the pathetic text ("I draw my strength through YOU / My Jana. -Jana, -Jana!").

In the same year, the successor to Siechtum appeared , which in turn was rated as an "ass bomb" in Rock Hard . A few magazines, such as Ablaze , rated the album positively. In 2001 the last work Wundgrind was published by Christhunt Productions . This album is rated similarly to its predecessors.

Shortly afterwards, Berung decided to discontinue the project. In 2003 he wrote lyrics for Legion of Sadism's second album .
