The Brew is a British blues-rock - band .
history
The band consists of bassist Tim Smith, his son Kurtis Smith on drums and guitarist Jason Barwick. Tim Smith initially contributed the vocals, from 2008 Barwick took over. The trio from Grimsby in northeast England has been playing together since around 2005, when the two younger members were still teenagers. In 2006 they released a debut album that was called The Brew like the band . With that and with the second album The Joker two years later, they attracted attention across Europe.
Most of all, their success was based on their live performances. At the Rock'n 'Blues Custom Show in Derbyshire in 2006, they were brought to the main stage for a second appearance the following day after one appearance and signed up again for the following year. From the magazine It's Only Rock 'n' Roll (the magazine of the Rolling Stones -Fanclubs) they were voted the best band in 2006/07. They were headliners at the Maasboulevard Festival in Rotterdam and also performed two years in a row in 2007/08. From Spain to Poland they gave concerts and were represented at rock festivals all over Europe. Another highlight was the appearance recorded for German television at the WDR Rockpalast in July 2009.
Her 2010 album A Million Dead Stars was released on the German label Jazzhaus Records and was produced by Chris West, who had previously worked with The Verve, Status Quo and Uriah Heep.
