Setherial is a Swedish black metal band.
history
The band was formed in 1993 by Kheeroth , Zathanel , Devothan and Mysteriis . Together with Kraath and Infernus they recorded a demo called A Hail to the Faceless Angels in 1994 , followed by an EP and a split.
In March 1996 the debut album Nord ... was released , which is mainly based on the style of their compatriots Dissection and the Norwegian group Emperor and contains long songs of up to 14 minutes in length. The album is considered the best of the band and is an important release of Swedish Black Metal. It was mixed by Peter Tägegren .
In 1998, Lords of the Nightrealm followed . From this album on, Moloch took over the post of drummer from Zathanel , a tendency to shorter, faster songs with simpler song structures comparable to Marduk and Dark Funeral .
In 1999, Wrath von Naglfar became the new singer, who stayed until 2003.
From the original line-up, Mysteriis and Kraath are still active, and Infaustus and Empyrion are current members.
