Sons of Seasons is a German symphonic metal band. It is the solo project of Kamelot keyboarder Oliver Palotai .

history

Sons of Seasons was founded in January 2007 by Oliver Palotai. Palotai had been a member of Doro's touring band since 2001 and was part of the line-up of Blaze , the band of former Iron Maiden singer Blaze Bayley , since 2004 . In spring 2007, Daniel Schild (drums) and Luca Princiotta (guitar), two other former members of Blaze, joined the band. With the bassist Jürgen Steinmetz ( Silent Force , Rock Ignition ) and the singer Tijs Vanneste ( Oceans of Sadness ) the band was complete in the summer of 2007. Vanneste left the group shortly afterwards.

Palotai met Henning Basse from Metalium on a Japan tour with Kamelot and hired him as a new singer. In autumn 2008, guitarist Princiotta left the band, whereupon Palotai recorded the guitars for the debut album . Guitarist Pepe Pierez has been an integral part of the band since February 2009. At the end of April 2009 the debut album "Gods of Vermin" was released. It also features Epica singer Simone Simons , Mark Jansen (Epica) and Tijs Vanneste as guest musicians. The album was co-produced by Alexander Krull ( Atrocity ). In the fall of 2009 Sons of Seasons were on a tour with Epica that took the band across Europe.

On April 1st 2011 her second studio album "Magnisphyricon" was released, which continued the style of the first album and again presented a guest singer with Simone Simons. From April 22nd to May 11th, 2011 the band was on tour through Europe as opening act for Kamelot and Evergrey ; A headliner tour with MaYaN through Germany and the Benelux countries followed immediately .
