In 1994 the band played with Cradle of Filth at a concert in Lisbon , Portugal . Shortly thereafter, she released her second EP, Under the Moonspell . She signed a deal with Century Media and released her debut album, Wolfheart , which broke through in 1995.

The band's second album, Irreligious , was released in 1996. There was a single release as well as a music video that was shown on various television channels. In 1998 the band Sin / Pecado released their third album . In the same year Moonspell devoted herself to her side project "Daemonarch", under which they released the album Hermeticum .

In 2001 the album Darkness and Hope was released , from which the single Nocturna was released. On this album Moonspell also covered the Ozzy Osbourne title Mr. Crowley .

In 2003 the album The Antidote was released , which reached number 4 on the Portuguese album charts. In 2005 the band signed a three-album deal with SPV / Steamhammer. Their first release under the new label was Memorial in 2006 , which peaked at number 1 in Portugal.

In 2007 the band released the album Under Satanae with re-recordings of the pieces by Under the Moonspell and Anno Satanae . This album also made it to number 43 in the Portuguese charts. Shortly after its release, the band played the entire album at a concert in Lisbon in front of 3,500 spectators. Later in the same year an appearance at the Wacken Open Air followed . In January 2008, Moonspell began recording their next album, Night Eternal . As with The Antidote, Niclas Etelävuori from Amorphis recorded the bass tracks.
