Fejd is a Swedish folk metal - band , the 2001 in Lilla Edet was founded.

history

The brothers Patrik and Niklas Rimmerfors play as a duo under the name Rimmerfors music of the medieval scene on instruments common at the time, such as the nyckelharpa or the hurdy-gurdy . In 2001 they formed the band Fejd with their music friends Lennart Specht , Thomas Antonsson and Esko Salow . The metal musicians Specht, Antonsson and Salow also play together in the bands Pathos and Nostradameus . The new band combines the hard sounds of metal with the typical melodic themes of Nordic folk. Originally the songs were written entirely by the Rimmerfors brothers. In the meantime, the works are being created jointly by the entire band.

The band made their first appearances in 2002. After three self-produced demos and EPs, Napalm Records released their debut album Storm in 2009 . The second album followed in 2010. The band has performed several times in Germany since 2009 , including at the Wacken Open Air 2009, the Wave-Gotik-Treffen , the Summer Breeze Festival and the Feuertanz-Festival 2010 as well as in 2011 as the opening act for Saltatio Mortis .

style

Fejd's music is dominated by authentic medieval instruments. Electric guitars were not used until 2015. The Swedish-language texts deal with the world of myths and fairy tales. With the entry of guitarist Per-Owe Sovelius, the band now also uses electric guitars.
