Edgar Hernando Tirado Mazo

Edgar Hernando Tirado Mazo MXY (born February 22, 1939 in Medellín ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and emeritus Vicar Apostolic of Tierradentro .

Life

Edgar Hernando Tirado Mazo joined the religious order of the Misioneros Javerianos de Yarumal and was ordained a priest on November 29, 1970 . In 1996 the Chapter elected him General Superior of his Order for six years .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on December 19, 2003 Vicar Apostolic of Tierradentro and Titular Bishop of Zaba . The apostolic nuncio in Colombia , Beniamino Stella , ordained him episcopal on March 31 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Alberto Giraldo Jaramillo PSS , Archbishop of Medellín , and Heriberto Correa Yepes MXY, Apostolic Vicar Emeritus of Buenaventura .

On June 5, 2015, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
