Jorge García Isaza
Jorge García Isaza CM (born July 2, 1928 in Manizales , † August 16, 2016 in Cali ) was a Colombian religious and apostolic vicar of Tierradentro .
Life
Jorge García Isaza joined the religious order of the Lazarists and was ordained a priest on February 14, 1954 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him on May 5, 1989 Apostolic Prefect of Tierradentro. With the elevation of the Apostolic Prefecture to the Apostolic Vicariate on February 17, 2000 he was appointed its first Apostolic Vicar and Titular Bishop of Budua . The Bishop of Caldas , Germán Garcia Isaza CM, ordained him episcopal on March 26th of the same year ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Beniamino Stella , Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia, and Iván Antonio Marín López , Archbishop of Popayán . On April 25, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
