Alberto Giraldo Jaramillo PSS (born October 7, 1934 in Manizales ) is old archbishop of Medellín .

Life

The Archbishop of Manizales, Luis Concha Córdoba , consecrated him as a priest on November 9, 1958 , was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Manizales and in 1960 joined the Sulpizian religious order . Paul VI appointed him on August 8, 1974 auxiliary bishop in Popayán and titular bishop of Obba .

On April 26, 1977 he was appointed Bishop of Chiquinquirá . John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Cúcuta on July 26, 1983 . On December 18, 1990, he was appointed Archbishop of Popayán . On February 13, 1997 he was appointed Archbishop of Medellín . On February 16, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
