history

The diocese of Cúcuta was on May 29, 1956 by Pope Pius XII. Erected from cessions of territory of the diocese of Nueva Pamplona and the dissolved Apostolic Prefecture Labateca . It is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Nueva Pamplona as a suffragan .
