history

The band was founded in 2014. This was the year that marked the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War . The band's appearance and music are based on the theme of the First World War. In 2015 the debut album Eschatology of War was released on the Ukrainian label Archaic Sounds. In 2016, the compilation Für Kaiser, Volk und Vaterland was released , which was limited to 100 music cassettes and contained demos and cover versions (including Nirvana ). To mark the anniversary of the end of World War I, the second album The Blind Leading the Blind was released on November 11, 2018 at 11:11 am . Initially, the album was released again via Archaic Sound in the Ukraine, but with increasing awareness of the band in the rest of Europe in May 2019 also via the Napalm Records label . On this album, David Ingram acts as a guest musician in the song Passchenhell , and it also includes the song Beat the Bastards , a cover version of The Exploited . Plans for a European tour in 2020 with various festivals and concerts are currently suspended due to the global COVID-19 pandemic . On March 19, 2020, the band announced via Facebook that a performance at the Inferno Festival was planned in 2021.

style

music

The band played a mix of death and doom metal. Influences from Black Metal can also be heard here and there. The deeply tuned, booming guitars and the deep bass are striking. In addition, the band also builds many melodic, often depressing guitar parts into the songs. The typical blast beats from Death Metal are rather rare, instead the band plays songs in a medium or slow tempo. Many songs are accompanied by samples, such as speeches or speeches from the First World War, battle or engine noises. Typical are the intros (war in) and outros (war out) on the albums, which each represent songs from that time in authentic sound quality.

Texts

All of the band's lyrics revolve around the theme of the First World War. In some songs striking events are described directly as the Christmas peace from December 1914 ( Frozen in trenches (The Christmas Truce) ), the Hundred Days Offensive ( The Hundred Days offense ) or the Battle of Gallipoli ( Ottoman Rise ). Other songs are dedicated to special branches of the army ( Arditi ) or vehicles ( A7V Mephisto ). In the lyrics, the band paints an often depressing to frightening picture of the events without much pathos and exercises indirect criticism of the war and the ideology of the time.
