Vexed is an Italian thrash metal band from Milan that was formed in 1996.

history

The band was founded in 1996 by the singer Michele "Mik" F. In 1999 the EP Abyss of Agony was released , 400 copies of which were sold and 450 more were distributed as promotional material. In 2000, more songs by John von Necrodeath were recorded and mixed by the Dynabyte Studio . These songs were intended for further promotional purposes. In 2001 the EP Blood upon the Void was released by Anger Music . In the same year material was recorded for a split release with Hatework . In 2002 the EP was released again, this time in the form of a split release via Deathstrike Records with the Brazilian band Farscape . In the same year, the debut album Endless Armageddon was released on Witchhammer Productions . In 2003 the second album was recorded, which is called Nightmare Holocaust and was released in the same year on Witches Brew Records . John von Necrodeath can be heard as a guest musician in the song Blashemer , a cover version of the Sodom song. In the same year, the split release Nuclear Babylon / Bastard with Hatework was also released on Dream Evil Records . In the following year, the third album Destruction Warfare was recorded and released on Witches Brew Records in the same year. It contains, among other things, a cover version of Destructions Total Desaster . After five years in Vexed, guitarist Claud left the line-up in 2005. In 2006 the next album, entitled Hellblast Extinction , was recorded and released. Concerts were also recorded for a planned DVD release . Both releases were intended to celebrate ten years of the band. In 2008 the box set Violent Blast Metal was released , which contains all previous releases as well as rare material. In 2012 and 2016 two more albums were released with Void MMXII and Legion Deathblood via Punishment 18 Records . In their career, the group has performed at various festivals and in various clubs in Europe and has played with Destruction, Tankard , Bulldozer , Schizo , Agent Steel , Sabbat , Impaled Nazarene , Sinister , Enthroned , Aura Noir , Raw Power , Dismember , Necrodeath, Watain , Omen , Virgin Steele , Desaster , Pentacle , Nocturnal , Warhammer , Opera IX , Mortuary Drape , Negură Bunget , Anael , Horrid , Doomsword , Hatework, The Vision Bleak , Hyades Morrigan , Devil Lee Rot and Autopsy Torment .

style

In his review of Nightmare Holocaust , EvilG from metal-rules.com assigned the band to Thrash Metal. She is mainly based on the European style of the 1980s, as played by Sodom , Kreator and Destruction . The vocals consist of screams , which he found uncomfortable, and which can be compared with those from older Kreator releases, although they are a bit higher with Vexed. The title song contains a solo in which random notes are played, which is also reminiscent of Kreator. The song Death Justice also allows a comparison to older Kreator. Marcel Rapp from Powermetal.de wrote about Void MMXII that you can hear Thrash Metal on it, but that it is also influenced by Death Metal and Hardcore Punk . He recommended the music to fans of Annihilator .
