Necrodeath is one of the first Italian thrash metal bands alongside Schizo and Bulldozer .

history

The band was formed in 1984. The band released the demo recording Mayhemic Destruction under the name Ghostrider and in 1985 under the name Necrodeath The Shining Pentagram . In 1987 her debut album Into the Macabre was released and in 1989 her second album Fragments of Insanity ; after this album the band stopped their activities due to problems with their cast and the record company. Drummer Peso founded Necrosadist (now known as Sadist ), and members of Necrodeath and Schizo released Project One under the name Mondocane in 1990 .

In 1998 the band were reunited by Claudio and Peso, signed a deal with Scarlet, re-released Into the Macabre and began writing new material. In September 1999 the album Mater of All Evil was recorded in the Underground Studios in Sweden . The band performed at the No Mercy Festival and the Gods of Metal, among others, and released the video cassette From Hate to Scorn and the album Black as Pitch in 2001 after a few months' break and rehearsals . She performed at the Tattoo the Planet Festival in Milan with Slayer , Soulfly , Children of Bodom and Moonspell, among others , and recorded a music video for Process of Violation and worked on a new album; this was published in September 2003 under the title Ton (e) s of Hate .

In 2005 the compilation 20 Years of Noise 1985-2005 and 2006 Necrodeath's sixth album 100% Hell was released ; the album was recorded with guitarist Andy, who was replaced after the recording by Pier Gonella from Labyrinth , and Cronos from Venom had a guest appearance. After completion, the band went on a European tour with Marduk .

In October 2007, the concept album Draculea, acting by Vlad Țepeș , was released . There was also a music video for Smell of Blood . The Phylogenesis is also a concept album and deals with the origin of species, the past, present and future of the world's population. In addition to this, a vinyl re-release of Into the Macabre and a 10 ” EP version of The Shining Pentagram were released in 2009 , both strictly limited. The band also recorded the anniversary release Old Skull , which was released in 2010 and features guest contributions from former members of Necrodeath, Schizo and Bulldozer . In 2011 the anthology The Age of Fear followed with pieces from all previous publications and an unpublished version of Queen of Desire with Giorgia Gueglio from Mastercastle on vocals and Botys Beezard from Godyva on piano, a cover of Slayers Black Magic and a live version of The Theory , and the album Idiosyncrasy .

style

The band names Slayer , Possessed , Kreator , Celtic Frost and Bathory as influences from the founding time , their third album Mater of All Evil describes them as the "essence of what we loved in the past: Slayer, Possessed, Kreator, Destruction , Sodom , Bathory, Dark Angel ”. On this album you will find “these typical, slayer-shaped, flash-like flickering and just as briefly howling, cutting guitar solos [...]. The club shows a lot of emphasis in the direction of Thrash Metal, which, however, was colored deep black, because somewhere here the spirit of Bathory or Celtic Frost blows through the walls, whereby the singing of the Italians almost reaches modern standards in terms of meanness. " Despite varied arrangements and the use of acoustic guitars, according to Michael Schäfer from Metal Hammer , “the somewhat bland taste of what has already been there” remains . According to his colleague Detlef Dengler, Mater of All Evil is "a ruthless board" and the successor Black as Pitch is "even more aggressive, even more uncouth and even more brutal"; In his opinion, the band “can best be compared stylistically with troops like Krisiun or Deathwitch , as they play their incredibly fast songs with an impressive technical brilliance and an overwhelming energy. […] Peso and Claudio are inexorably approaching 40, which is why it is surprising why Necrodeath are becoming more and more uncompromising. 'I hate keyboards, I don't like female vocals, I don't like pop, I don't like melodies. I have no choice but to continue to club with Necrodeath. In my private life I am more of a tame, sociable person, although I would often like to be able to get out of myself more because you meet assholes day in, day out or are confronted with thought-provoking incidents. This is probably why Necrodeath is such an important part of my life. '"
