Pier Gonella

Pier Gonella (* 26. March 1977 in Chiavari ) is a metal - and hard rock - guitarist . He is currently the guitarist for the metal group Mastercastle .

Life

Pier Gonella started playing guitar at the age of 15 thanks to his passion for bands like Scorpions and Deep Purple. He was influenced by various musicians, for example Yngwie Malmsteen , Joe Satriani , Vinnie Moore , Joey Tafolla . He studied music theory and in June 1998 he received the diploma "Teoria and Solfeggio" at the Conservatory of Music "Nicolo" Paganini " in Genoa .

labyrinth

Between 1987 and 1997 he worked with metal group Labyrinth . With them he played in many Italian and European festivals (such as Gods Of Metal, Metalway), and in 2005 he toured Japan, China and Taiwan. In 2005 he released the album Freeman , and in 2005 the album 6 days to nowhere . In the same year he made a new tour in Japan. The collaboration ended in July 2008.

Necrodeath

In 2006 he joined the band Necrodeath . With them he made a tour in Europe (twenty concerts) together with black metal band Marduk . In 2005 he released the album Draculea , 2007 the album Phylogenesis , and 2007 the album Old Skull .

Mastercastle

In 2008 the singer Giorgia Gueglio joined and together with her he founded the metal group Mastercastle . She wrote a lot of songs and sent a demo to the Lion Music label, which offered them a deal. The first album was released in 2009 and was titled The Phoenix . In 2010 they released a new album called Last Desire . Pier Gonella continues to play with this group.
