Vinnie Moore (born April 14, 1964 in New Castle , Delaware ) is an American fusion or shredding guitarist.

He plays melodic, instrumental rock music . Mostly he has released solo albums, but has recently appeared as a guitarist for the band UFO .

biography

Vinnie Moore started playing guitar at age 12 and joined his first band three years later. He was discovered by Mike Varney , founder and producer of the record company Shrapnel Records , who mentioned him positively in the "Spotlight" column of Guitar Player magazine . This event resulted in a contract with Pepsi for a commercial . Since the release of his debut album Mind's Eye in 1986, his career has skyrocketed.

In addition to his solo project Moore also played on the Vicious Rumors album Soldiers of the Night from 1985, on the Alice Cooper album Hey Stoopid 1991 and on the 1994 published Deep Purple - Tribute Album Smoke on the Water . In 2004 he also played as a guest musician on the album Rhythm of Time by Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess and a few years later as studio guitarist on the album DEVOLUTION by the German thrash metal band Destruction , whereby it is worth noting that the musical relationship between Destruction -Bandleader Lubricant and Moore at the Frankfurt Music Fair. Hot Licks Productions also released two guitar instructional videos by Moore: Advanced Lead Guitar Techniques (1987) and Speed, Accuracy, & Articulation (1989).

Vinnie Moore has been the guitarist of UFO since 2003 , where he replaces Michael Schenker, who has dropped out again. Moore worked there on the 2004 albums You Are Here and The Monkey Puzzle, which was released in 2006, and went on several (world) tours with the band in the following years, on which the live recording Showtime was made in Wilhelmshaven in 2005 . In 2009 he recorded the album The Visitor and 2012 Seven Deadly . In 2015 "A Conspiracy Of Stars" followed and in 2017 the cover album The Salentino Cuts .
