Mike Varney

Mike Varney is an American music producer .

He produces and publishes the works of numerous guitarists under his own music label, Shrapnel Records . He has made it his life's work to look for talented guitarists around the world to promote them. He edited the Spotlight column , which featured 15-year-old Paul Gilbert , Billy Sheehan and Yngwie Malmsteen, as well as many other heavy metal guitarists and bassists.

The following talented guitarists from the rock and fusion sector were supported by the production of Mike Varney: Yngwie Malmsteen , Richie Kotzen , Paul Gilbert , Tony MacAlpine , Greg Howe , Marty Friedman , Michael Lee Firkins , Joey Tafolla , Vinnie Moore , Ron Thal and Jason Becker .
