The label was founded in 1980 by 22-year-old Mike Varney . The label was committed to releasing metal and rock albums , with artists and bands such as Yngwie Malmsteen , Marty Friedman , Jason Becker , Paul Gilbert , Racer X , Tony MacAlpine , Vinnie Moore , Greg Howe , Richie Kotzen and Toby Knapp making their first records published here.
