Apocrypha was an American power and thrash metal band from Las Vegas , Nevada that was formed in 1987 and split again around 1990.

history

The band was formed in 1987. In the same year, the debut album The Forgotten Scroll was released . The group consisted of guitarist Tony Fredianelli, singer Steve Plocica, bassist Al Rumley and drummer Mike Poe on the album. The album was produced by Marty Friedman , who would later become a member of Cacophony . In 1988 the second album The Eyes of Time followed , on which Chip Chrovian could be heard as the second guitarist. In 1990 the third and final album Area 54 followed , on which bassist Breck Smith and drummer Dave Schiller could be heard. After the band broke up, Fredianelli released a solo album and then joined the cover bands Loveshack and Majik Alex. He then became a member of the band Third Eye Blind .

style

The band played a mixture of power and thrash metal, with the complex playing of guitarist Fredianelli being particularly characteristic. The vocals are reminiscent of Rob Halford's .
