Marc Rizzo

Marc Rizzo (born August 2, 1977 in Carlstadt , New Jersey , United States ) is the lead guitarist of the band Soulfly and previously worked for the band Ill Niño . So far he has appeared on seven Soulfly albums: Prophecy , Dark Ages , Conquer , Omen , Enslaved , Savages and Archangel . He has also released three mostly instrumental solo albums: Colossal Myopia , The Ultimate Devotion and Legionnaire . Rizzo is also a member of the band Cavalera Conspiracy , a side project of Max and Igor Cavalera , the co-founders of Sepultura . Rizzo can be heard on the debut album Inflikted (2008) and Blunt Force Trauma (2011).

Although he mainly works in metal, Rizzo has a wide range of styles, combining different genres such as hard rock , metal, jazz . In addition to classical guitar playing, influences from flamenco can also be clearly heard. In 2007 he held his first solo tour of the USA.

Marc Rizzo is outfitted by Peavey , Yamaha and BC Rich . A 7-string signature guitar from BC Rich is also available.

In 2004, Rizzo founded the indie label Phlamencore Records with his younger brother Luke.

During his live performances, Rizzo is known for his aerial kicks. He also carried a backpack for a while, for reasons that were not known. He is also known for wearing football shirts on stage.
