Aura Noir is a thrash metal / black metal band from Oslo , Norway . Aura Noir has very strong influences from early Thrash Metal bands like Kreator , other German Thrash Metal bands and Slayers . Her lyrics are about blasphemy , death and aggressiveness.

history

The band was founded in 1993 by Aggressor (Carl-Michael Eide) as a side project to Ved Buens Ende to play even more unusual music. He wrote a few songs and asked Apollyon (Ole Jørgen Moe) to help him record the guitar tracks, but rejected his ideas in the studio and opted for the then unpopular old-school thrash. After some demo recordings, their first EP, Dreams Like Deserts , was released by Hot Records in 1995. Then the band gave a few concerts in Oslo, for which they needed an additional member and recorded the then Mayhem guitarist Blasphemer (Rune Eriksen). The band switched to Malicious Records and played their debut album Black Thrash Attack with the new line-up . The second album Deep Tracts of Hell , released by Hammerheart Records , was recorded without blasphemers, who played with Mayhem in the United States during the recording.

In 2004 they became the first band to sign with Tyrant Syndicate Productions, a subsidiary of Peaceville Records , directed by Nocturno Culto and Fenriz (both members of the band Darkthrone ). There their next album, The Merciless , was released, with Fenriz from Darkthrone and Nattefrost (Roger Rasmussen) from Carpathian Forest and Nattefrost as guest vocalists .

The band's activities were interrupted by an accident by Aggressors. In May 2006, Aggressor was a guest on the Norwegian radio show Tinitus, where he confirmed that he was paralyzed from the ankles due to the accident and was therefore in a wheelchair. On August 22, 2008, the fourth studio album Hades Rise was released . Since then, concerts with various substitute drummers have been played again, for example on October 25, 2009 at the Aurora Infernalis Fest in Arnhem with the former Perished drummer Jehmod. During their performance at Party.San 2010, Aggressor spontaneously joined the band and sang the song Sons of Hades while still on crutches .
