Mushroomhead is an American band from Cleveland , who became successful with their mix of styles of hardcore riffs and techno , paired with rapcore, a mix of rap and hardcore vocals. Their individual masks are a special trademark.

history

The eight musicians have been in the music business since 1992, but the band initially stayed underground and was known almost only in the USA. In 2001 they were signed by Universal Records and then released their first major label album XX , which contains songs from previous albums, as well as a new track. In 2003 they released their second major label album XIII , whereupon Bronson, former sampler , takes the place of JJ Righteous on guitar, who had left the band due to differences with other members. Sampler then became St1tch, the man who is actually responsible for the band's merchandising .

At the end of 2004 J-Mann, front man and shouter, left the band and was replaced by Waylon (3 Quarters Dead). Due to J-Mann's departure, Universal Records fired Mushroomhead so that they can manage themselves again. The band completed their Home Video Volume 1 under their own direction in early summer 2005 and released it on August 9, 2005 under their own label Filthy Hands . The DVD had been announced years before when J-Mann was still the front man. That's why J-Mann can still be seen in Volume 1 . In addition to all the videos as a bonus, the work mainly contains material that shows everyday tour life and work in the studio. In July 2006 Bronson left the band, two months later the album Savior Sorrow was released .

In 2009 the band contributed the song Your Soul Is Mine to the soundtrack of Saw VI . They also played at the Mayhem Festival 2009 instead of Bullet for My Valentine and announced the release of their new album here. The new album Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children was released on September 28, 2010. On October 28, 2010, John E. Sekula, better known as JJ Righteous, died at the age of 41. He was the guitarist for Mushroomhead from the founding to the fourth album. It is not yet known what John E. Sekula died of.
