Death Before Dishonor is an American hardcore band from Boston .

history

Bryan Harris, Erik Deitz, Frankie Puopolo and Dan Loftus formed the band in 2000 to play hardcore music together. The models were mainly New York Hardcore bands such as Madball and Agnostic Front . The band name goes back to an album released in 1987 by the Scottish punk / hardcore band The Exploited .

They toured the USA and Europe with Ramallah, among others . In 2007 they released the album "Count Me In" and then went on a world tour with Ignite . With the exception of Bryan Harris and Frankie Puopolo (who switched to guitar in the meantime), band members were repeatedly exchanged and hired again.

style

Death Before Dishonor play aggressive Boston Hardcore . On the one hand there are influences from bands like Agnostic Front , Madball or the Cro-Mags as well as some influences from classic hardcore punk. On the other hand, with the heavily distorted guitars, breakdowns and double bass games as well as the vocals, characteristics from the metalcore area are more noticeable.

The music on the album Count Me In is compared by the German-language magazine Hardkern.de with that of groups like First Blood , Donnybrook or Terror .

At Green Hell , the band is described as follows:

[...] a symbiosis of classic East Coast Old School Hardcore a la AF or SOIA and fat, brutal metal riffs from the Hatebreed brand (without ever being too metallic). "
