Puddle of Mudd ( . English mud puddle ) is an American post-grunge - band from Kansas City , Missouri .
Band history
Singer Wes Scantlin was born in St. Joseph , Missouri and grew up in Kansas City . He attended Park Hill High School there and founded the band Puddle of Mudd after graduating in the mid-1990s. After this original incarnation broke up, Scantlin managed to forward a demo to front man Fred Durst through a security man on Limp Bizkits Family Values Tour '99 . He was enthusiastic about the dynamics of the band and planned to sign the band with his label Flawless Records . Since the band lacked all members except for Scantlin, a new version was formed in Los Angeles by Scantlin with the help of "discoverer" Fred Durst .
The band became known through songs like Control , She Hates Me and Blurry . At first she played in the USA as support for bands such as Cold or Staind, also overseen by Fred Durst, and later with the Deftones and Godsmack . In Europe they played for the first time as support for Linkin Park . Her song Control was the official theme song for the WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event in November 2001, and her song Nothing Left to Lose was the official theme song for the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in January 2004. In 2005, Greg left Upchurch the band and became the drummer of the band 3 Doors Down . He has been replaced by Ryan Yerdon.
On July 24, 2007 they released an EP called Famous , previously the single Famous . This song was also the theme song from WWE One Night Stand 2007. The release of the actual album, also called Famous , took place on October 9, 2007. Some time later the singles Psycho , We Don't Have to Look Back Now and Livin 'on Borrowed Time were decoupled from the album.
In 2009 Christian Stone resigned from the band due to unspecified causes and was promptly replaced by former guitarist Paul Phillips. Within three recording sessions, the reshaped band then worked on a new album called Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate . It was released in the US on December 4, 2009, after the first single Spaceship got an airplay on American radios .
The song Shook Up the World was a contribution to the support of the American Olympic team for the Winter Games in Vancouver and Whistler in 2010, but the piece was completed too late to get the official soundtrack for the team in time. The song was released as a single and is available on iTunes , where it was also appended to a new version of the album. Other singles were the successful song Stoned and the almost unnoticed and almost unnoticed Keep it Together . After a short series of concerts in the summer, bassist Douglas John Ardito left the band and was replaced by Damien Starkey, who comes from Jacksonville and was the front man of the band Burn Season . In October of the same year, the compilation Icon appeared , which contains twelve songs by the band. The Icon series publishes similar compilations for various other artists in North America for a small price.
In 2011 the band retired to the studio to work on a new album. For the first time in many years, the band played in Europe during the summer at the Download Festival in England to celebrate Come Clean's tenth anniversary .
At the end of August 2011, the album re: (disc) overed was released, which only contains cover versions (by AC / DC , Led Zeppelin , Free ). In September 2019 the album Welcome to Galvania was released with new own songs.
