Sienna Skies is a post-hardcore band from Sydney , New South Wales , Australia formed in 2006 .
history
Sienna Skies was founded in 2006 in Sydney , New South Wales, Australia by Michael Sankey and Nick Musgrave. The first official line-up consisted of the singer Steve Faull, the two guitarists Michael Sankey and Nick Musgrave, the keyboardist Matt Wells, as well as the bassist Josh Wade and drummer Luke Ziomek. Damon Broher is now the band's drummer.
An EP with five tracks was released just one year after the band was founded. This is called Where Joy Exists Despair Beckons and was financed out of pocket. The sextet toured constantly along the east coast of Australia and successfully completed a tour in New Zealand . At some concerts, the group performed with bands such as Family Force 5 , Blessed by a Broken Heart , Haste the Day , Deez Nuts and The Amity Affliction .
On October 9, 2011, the group opened up for The Amity Affliction and Asking Alexandria at Luna Park in Sydney. In November, the group toured Sound of Seasons by New South Wales , Queensland and Victoria . On December 5, 2009, the group released their debut album Truest of Colors on the New Justice Records label .
The follow-up album to Truest of Colors is called The Constant Climb and was released on November 16, 2012 via the InVogue Records and Artery Recordings labels . The group had made a local deal with Artery Recordings, who distribute the album in Australia . As of October 25, 2012, the group was on tour as the opening act for In Hearts Wake in Australia. This comprised eight shows and ended on November 3, 2012.
In February and March 2013, the band toured New Zealand for five shows . The band was accompanied by Advocates and As Color Fades .
On the Scream It Like You Mean It tour, which led through the United States in October and November 2013 , Sienna Skies and Silverstein were announced as a "special guest". The two groups could be seen at selected concerts with bands such as Hawthorne Heights , Story of the Year , Capture the Crown , Set It Off and I Am King .
On July 29, 2014, the group's third studio album was released worldwide. It is called Seasons and was released on the US record company inVogue Records. On June 27, 2014, the group starred in the opening act for Story of the Year at the Metro Theater in Sydney .
On September 21, 2014, the band announced on Facebook that singer Steve Faull and keyboardist Matt Wells would leave the band to pursue their own plans. However, the band confirmed that they have already found a new singer.
