The Luna Park is an amusement park in Sydney , Australia on the east bank of the Lavender Bay and north of Sydney Harbor.

history

The park opened on October 4, 1935. The operators at the time were Herman Phillips, David Atkins and Ted Hopkins. The nine-meter-high smile face above the park entrance has been renewed eight times since it opened. In 1979, seven people died when a fire broke out in the ghost train and destroyed the ride. After that, the park was closed for several years. After 1995 it was closed again because of the noise level from the wooden roller coaster, but opened until January 2001 during the 2000 Olympic Games. It was then redesigned and renovated and reopened in 2004.

Attractions

The “Wild Mouse” roller coaster is an attraction . There are also numerous carousels and a Ferris wheel with a view of Sydney. The Tango Train (similar to the Petersburg sleigh ride ) and the 35-meter-high Skylab Ferries Wheel are popular rides, as is the Coney Island Funhouse, which has been in existence since 1935, with its giant slides and rotating floor platform, or the Flying Saucer , which has existed since 1988.
