Eve 6 is a rock band from southern California , which broke up in 2004, but returned in 2007 with a new line-up and finally in March 2011 with the original line-up. Their music is often attributed to alternative or punk rock . On May 3, 2012, the band signed a contract with Fearless Records .
Career
The band formed in 1995 under the name Eleventeen in La Crescenta , California. They only adopted the name Eve 6 when they were looking for a drummer and found him in Tony Fagenson. He was a big X-Files fan and, based on a character from the episode Eve , chose the band name Eve 6. In 1996 they released their first EP as Eleventeen . Two years later the trio released their first, self-titled studio album Eve 6 on the US market. The first single Inside Out became a hit and climbed to number 1 on the US Modern Rock Charts. The album went platinum . Since Eve 6 had no such success with any other single, they are now considered a one hit wonder by many . Other singles were Leech and Open Road Song . The second album Horroscope 2000 could reach gold status due to the success of the singles Promise and Here's To The Night . In 2003 the third and final LP It’s All In Your Head was released , which, apart from the single Inside Out , could hardly sell. In March 2003, the RCA label's collaboration with the band was terminated, which shortly afterwards also led to the band's dissolution. On October 6th, 2007 they announced on their myspace page that they will be performing together again as Eve 6 with immediate effect.
On January 31, 2012 the band released the new single Lost & Found after a long time .
On February 28, 2012, the single Victoria was released, the accompanying music video was released on April 17, 2012.
On April 24, 2012, the fourth studio album, Speak In Code , was released for the first time under the Fearless Records label .
Sugi Tap
Sugi Tap is the project started in May 2005 by Max Collins and Tony Faginson, which musically follows a similar path to Eve 6. To date, however, there have only been concerts and demo recordings of the duo. The name is derived from the Japanese feature film Battle Royale .
