Shadow Moses is a song by the British metal core band Bring Me the Horizon , which was released on January 14, 2013 as the first single on the album Sempiternal . It was written by Oliver Sykes , Lee Malia and Jordan Fish .

The single reached number 82 on the UK Singles Chart and number two on the UK Rock Singles Chart .

The title of the song refers to a fictional location from the game Metal Gear Solid . The melody at the beginning of the song is related to the song The Best Is Yet to Come , which is present in the soundtrack of the computer game.

The rest of the music video alternates between short scenes of a girl walking through the snow and the band performing the song Shadow Moses in the snow and on the beach of an ocean, and Sykes holding up a Bengali torch at night while standing in the snow .
